-DESRON 15 has two chaplains to take care of the command and the eight forward-deployed destroyers. The Chaplain Corps has identified the need to have Chaplains assigned to destroyers to build resiliency in Sailors across the Fleet.
“Leaders have identified our Sailors as an asymmetrical advantage against our adversaries,” said Capt. Daniel Mode, U.S. 7th Fleet, Fleet Chaplain. “Keeping Sailors healthy and resilient is a critical leadership priority. Responding to a demand signal from Surface Leadership for more chaplains operating in the Fleet, the Chaplain Corps through the SURFPAC Chaplain developed strategies to increase budget and recruiting chaplains specifically billeted to DDGs. The proposal was unanimously approved at all leadership levels from the CNO on down.”
The Chaplain community aims to provide care to all Sailors. Care is one of the four core competencies from the Chaplain Doctrine that a Chaplain can provide to the command with the others being; provide, facilitate and advisement.
Chaplains are frontline first responders who help build resiliency and readiness of Sailors across the deck plates.
“With a (Destroyer) having their own chaplain, they will be a part of the crew rather than being a ship rider,” said Lt. Cmdr. Lynn Christensen, CTF 71 Chaplain.
-One of the essential elements of the U.S. 7th Fleet mission is to maintain resilient and ready Sailors 24/7 to face diversity meet any contingency. Chaplains help keep Sailors in the fight to complete the mission. Chaplains can provide care and time to all Sailors while providing support to the Triad. A chaplain aboard a ship can attend to the crew’s emotional and mental needs at all fronts with confidentiality and trust from the crew.
“The ministry of presence is essential to providing care to Sailors onboard,” said Christensen. “This will provide support to Sailors and the people they interact with on a day-to-day basis. Chaplains provide assurance to help support Sailors that they are not alone. We want to help people succeed in life,” said Christensen. “Chaplains provide the connection to religion and humanity to our Sailors that provides confidence to the warrior so they can carry on the U.S. Navy’s mission.”
DESRON 15 is the Navy's largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet's principal surface force.
-U.S. 7th Fleet is the largest forward-deployed fleet in the world, and with the help of a network of alliances and partners from 35 other maritime-nations, the U.S. Navy has operated in the Indo-Pacific region for more than 70 years, providing credible, ready forces to help preserve peace and prevent conflict.

-A Chaplain is a specially trained person who provides spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff in a hospital setting. Chaplains come from a variety of backgrounds and faiths, so they can provide help to anyone, no matter what their beliefs may be.
-Chaplains offer a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on, and they can also provide religious guidance or support if needed. They often offer comfort in times of crisis, and they can be a valuable resource for families coping with a loved one's illness.
-The Roles and Responsibilities of a Hospital Chaplain
A Chaplain's role in a hospital setting is to provide spiritual and emotional support for patients and their families. They are not nurses or doctors, so they do not offer medical care. However, they can provide a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, and a friend in a time of need.
-Chaplains also provide support for hospital staff. They often lead prayer groups and offer comfort to those who have lost a patient. They help to create a sense of community in a chaotic setting and are an important link between patients and the medical staff.
-What Training Do Hospital Chaplains Need?
Chaplains are theologically educated ministers. Many organizations seek chaplains with an advanced degree, such as a Master of Science in Spiritual Care, a master’s degree in divinity, or a similar degree. Graduate degrees prepare prospective chaplains for pastoral care in a variety of settings.
Chaplains are sometimes ordained ministers, but this is not always the case.
-In addition to theological studies, chaplains undergo extensive training to provide spiritual care to patients and families. This may include training in psychology and counseling.
-How Does a Hospital Chaplain Support Patients and Families?
A hospital chaplain provides spiritual and emotional support to patients and their families. As part of the health care team, they offer comfort and compassion to those who are dealing with illness, injury, or the death of a loved one.
-Hospital chaplains are trained to listen and provide support without judgment. They can help patients and families process their feelings, make decisions, find hope, and cope with loss.
-Chaplains are available to talk with patients and families of all faiths (or no faith) and can provide information about local religious resources. They can also arrange for religious services or rituals to be performed at the hospital.
Hospital chaplains are an essential part of the health care team, and their role is to support patients and families' emotional and spiritual needs.

Tower Week The individual skills learned during Ground Week are refined during Tower Week and team effort or "mass exit" concept is added to the training. The apparati used this week are the 34-foot towers, the swing landing trainer (SLT), the mock door for mass exit training, the suspended harness, and the 250-foot (76 m) free tower. Tower Week completes your individual skill training and builds team effort skills. To go forward to Jump Training Week, you must qualify on the SLT, master the mass exit procedures from the 34-foot (10 m) tower, and pass all PT requirements. Jump Week During Jump Week students must successfully complete five parachute jumps with the T-11 parachute at 1,250 feet from a C-130 or C-17 aircraft. Trainees must run to the airfield each day, conduct sustained airborne training, and then don their equipment and await their turn to jump. Prior to jumping their combat equipment each student will conduct a rigging exercise with their instructor to show them the proper rigging of their Airborne Combat Equipment. Generally, two of the jumps are "combat equipment jumps", in which the jumper carries a Molle ruck with MAWC (Modular Airborne Weapons Case), and a dummy weapon with 5 jumps.

Conducted 45 Strong Bond Retreats for the United States Army In September of 2021, the Office of the Chief of Chaplains released a memorandum to Army leadership entitled "Reforming the Army Strong Bonds Program," which announced the vision and intention to transform Strong Bonds. Effective Oct. 1, 2022, that vision became a reality as Building Strong and Ready Teams, or BSRT, replaced the Strong Bonds program. As the name implies, BSRT is team centric – with a dual focus on strengthening Army teams and strengthening Soldiers and Families through a team approach. BSRT is not simply a rebranding of Strong Bonds. Instead, it builds on the success of what was the Army's premier relationship training program for more than 20 years. With a broadened scope and reduced overhead costs, BSRT is positioned to meet the holistic spiritual readiness needs of more Soldiers and Families than ever before. BSRT Transformation Highlights: 1. BSRT places the commander in the driver's seat: Maximizing command input will enable Unit Ministry Teams (UMTs) to tailor programming according to the commander's vision. 2. BSRT increases unit throughput: Reducing overhead costs will allow more soldiers and family members to attend training, maximizing overall unit impact and team cohesion. 3. BSRT provides increased scheduling flexibility: Enabling commanders to schedule training to accommodate their training calendars will increase unit participation. 4. BSRT broadens scope: Training objectives will focus on spiritual readiness and holistic health, in addition to relationship enhancement.

To Whom it may concern:
Juan Adriatico is a dear friend of mine and a fellow brother in Christ. I have known Juan from Community Bible Church for 14 years now. We have seen him grow over the years in his military career, ministry, as a new father and within the business world. Juan is a go getter and someone who has a drive like I have never seen before.
His leadership, wisdom and development as a man and spiritual influence has grown and matured over the years with all his experience from war to the civilian world. Juan has a way of connecting with people like no other with his array of gifts and talents and has a presidential ora about him. I have personally had visions of Juan rising to leadership that would one day change our country if not even Presidential of the United States. He has the qualities of creativity, toughness, intelligence and a character to stand in the gap when most would have fallen. Speaking from a business owner perspective, Juan never stops pushing forward to ensure He is seeking Godly council and desiring to do God’s will.
This man has so many gifts and talents and a work ethic to match it. If there is something you must know about Juan, he is someone you can call on and he will be there. I can attest to his lifestyle as my father was an Officer in the Military and we are business owners. He has the courage to never run from adversity but through it. My husband and I would gladly support and endorse him in whatever compacity needed. Juan is so interesting because he has toughness and roughness to run with the toughest Texans, dialogue with some of the most respected leaders, to seeing him spin it up on a dance floor as a professional ballroom dancer. He has the energy and genetics of a 20-year-old yet the soul of an 80-year-old. You can see his heart to serve others which radiates in his spirit of joy and just pure happiness.
We have seen him overcome adversity and stand for what is right in sight of conflict. Juan Adriatico is a fighter for Truth, Love and is someone that will be there for you thick and thin. He possesses the rare qualities of loyalty to God, a devoted father to his son Colt, service to our country and always carries a gratitude within his spirit.
I am honored to write this letter of recommendation for Juan in whatever compacity or path that God may lead him.
Sincerely,
Linda Murray (Community Bible Church)

To whom it may concern,
We have been asked to provide a letter of recommendation for Juan Adriatico regarding his interest in joining the military service as a chaplain. We have known Juan since he was 19 years old and have been with him through his life events including: college years, military service, and then as a business person. He lived with us for a time and was a great role model for our son (a young teen at the time). Juan showed Matthew how to be a leader, serve and follow Christ and the importance of having a great work ethic. It has been a joy to watch Juan grow through the years and to see him use the gifts and talents that the Lord gave him for God’s Kingdom purposes. Juan doesn’t hesitate to seek godly council and prayer. He is always motivated to do what is right and has unstoppable energy and drive. His personality will light up a room and his devotion to his son, Colt, is inspiring! It has been a blessing to watch him remain faithful in his walk with the Lord through all of life’s ups and downs.
We enthusiastically support Juan in his future plans and fully believe that he can and
will be an asset in the role of chaplain. We have seen him face trials and setbacks that
might have crippled others but he has always been able to overcome these trails and
remains positive and enthusiastic about God’s plan for his life.
Most Sincerely,
Jeanne and Clyde Ware
